My top tips for knowing what to eat and when.
This is one of the biggest learning curves for some of my clients, replacing bad eating habits can be quite easy as long as you know the process and how to do it step by step.
So how can you change your eating habits by knowing what to eat and when? well of course first you need to work out what food/nutrition intake is correct for your current goal. once you know this then you can change your eating habits and replace those bad ones.
The reason I said it was quite easy is that it's all in the planning, the first part of the process is to make a plan.
๐Making the plan: knowing what you need and want to eat during the week will help you massively when it comes to making breakfast, lunches and dinners, it will also help you stop snacking.
The second part of the process is....
๐Buying the food: How many of you go to the shops and don't actually know what you want or need, just walking up and down the aisles hoping you will find something that you fancy. Plus have you ever walked around the food shops while hungry.....Bad move. This is why having a list of what you need before you go will help you.
The third part is.......
๐Preparing your food: Now this doesn't mean you have to make all your food for the week in one day, but there are different forms of preparing foods.
1st, Having a list of what you are going to be eating and on what day.
2nd, To pre-prepare some foods, pre-cook your veg or meats could save you time during your week.
3rd, Knowing what you are going to be eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner will stop you from walking into the kitchen and hunting for food when you are hungry.
4th, Allocate a certain time or day when you are going to cook.
The next part of the process is regarding snacking.
๐Snacks: The reason I have snacks as part of the process as I am about replacing habits not removing them, its a lot harder to tell someone NOT to snack, rather than to tell someone they can snack but in a certain way.
For example; Replace your bad sugary snacks with healthier versions so if you do snack you don't end up hitting the sweet or biscuit tin.
Allow yourself certain snacks as part of your new nutrition routine and know how much you can have of it.
Do not eat out of a packet, if you are going to snack, serve it onto a plate or bowl, this will stop you from overeating those snacks.
๐Overall, learning what to eat and when is all about planning and getting yourself a list and routine, it does not matter if you are a single mum or a CEO of a large company, getting yourself a routine for your eating habits will help you achieve your goals so much faster but will also help you keeping yourself on track when it comes to food and your diet.
Don't let your routine and food be the reason you are not achieving your goals, redesigning your habits and watch how everything falls into place.
Feel free to message me if you are struggling with your eating habits.
